Your Job

Technology Engineer - Responsible for supporting early-stage exploration, concept development, and validation of advanced electrical power transmission and interconnect technologies (including superconducting and cryogenic approaches). You will evaluate emerging conductors, cryogenic systems, and high-current interfaces through modelling, experiments, and prototype work to inform future product and technology roadmaps

Our Team

You will join the PSBU, CCS engineering team in Bangalore - a cross-functional group driving next-generation power-delivery concepts and demonstrators. The team partners closely with simulation, materials, product engineering, test labs, and external research institutions to move high-impact technologies from idea to validated prototype

What You Will Do

  • Scout and synthesize technical literature and industry developments to identify promising superconducting, cryogenic, and advanced conductor technologies.
  • Drive hypothesis-led feasibility studies combining analytical models and multiphysics simulation to evaluate performance, risks, and trade-offs.
  • Design and execute laboratory experiments and characterization plans for electrical, thermal, electromagnetic, and materials performance.
  • Develop prototype hardware and test fixtures (including 3D modelling using Siemens NX) to validate concepts and generate actionable data.
  • Analyze experimental results, produce technical recommendations, and communicate findings through reports, presentations, and invention disclosures.
  • Collaborate with internal product, reliability, and manufacturing teams and with external research partners to translate validated concepts into roadmap opportunities.
  • Incorporate applicable standards and compliance considerations (e.g., UL, IEC, IEEE) into technical evaluations and recommendations.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • M.Tech. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Applied Physics, Cryogenic Engineering, Superconductivity, Materials Science, Electromagnetics, or a closely related discipline.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience (including thesis work, internships, or research projects).
  • Strong fundamentals in electrical engineering, electromagnetics, and power/thermal analysis.
  • Demonstrated laboratory measurement and data-analysis skills; familiarity with experimental methods and test planning.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work in cross-functional teams

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Thesis, publications, patents, or internship experience related to superconductivity, cryogenics, advanced conductors, or high-current systems.
  • Hands-on experience with multiphysics simulation tools (e.g., COMSOL, ANSYS) and electrical/thermal modelling.
  • Experience creating 3D CAD models and layouts in Siemens NX (preferred).
  • Familiarity with DFM/DFMEA, reliability engineering, and materials characterization techniques.
  • Knowledge of applicable standards and compliance frameworks (UL, IEC, IEEE) and prior engagement with industrial test programs.
