Zenviron is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Project Engineer to support the delivery of a major Wind Farm project in the Hunter Region, NSW.
This is a unique opportunity to join a market-leading renewable energy contractor and play a key role in delivering one of Australia's largest clean energy infrastructure projects. Initially based in our Newcastle office, you will support engineering, procurement and planning activities before transitioning to site during the construction phase.
As the Senior Electrical Project Engineer, you will provide technical leadership across the project's electrical scope, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of critical renewable energy infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of electrical construction and commissioning work packages across the project lifecycle.
- Work closely with the Project Manager, broader project team and Zenviron engineering team to ensure project objectives are achieved with respect to safety, quality, cost and schedule.
- Coordinate engineering, procurement and construction activities to support successful project delivery.
- Review engineering designs, drawings, specifications and technical documentation to ensure compliance ,constructability and opportunities for improvement in cost or time associated.
- Lead work pack development and provide technical support to site supervisors and construction teams.
- Manage technical queries, design changes, RFIs and engineering documentation throughout project execution.
- Oversee subcontractors and suppliers to ensure project requirements, quality standards and delivery milestones are achieved.
- Support installation, testing and commissioning activities across electrical and high-voltage systems.
- Maintain project documentation, quality records and completion dossiers to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Monitor project performance, costs, forecasting and risk mitigation activities.
- Foster a strong culture of safety, quality, collaboration and continuous improvement across the project team.
What You Will Bring
- Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering recognised in Australia.
- Demonstrated experience in a Senior Project Engineer, Project Engineer or similar role delivering major electrical infrastructure projects.
- Experience working on utility-scale renewable energy or major infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of electrical construction, installation, testing and commissioning processes.
- Previous experience managing subcontractors, suppliers and project interfaces.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing costs, variations and project schedules.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to lead teams and drive project outcomes in a fast-paced delivery environment.
- RPEQ, CPEng or eligibility to obtain professional registration will be highly regarded.
The Opportunity
This position is ideally suited to candidates based in Newcastle, Hunter Valley, Sydney, Dubbo or the Mid North Coast regions. Preference will be given to candidates who can initially work from the Newcastle office before transitioning to site during project delivery.
The project will operate on a DIDO basis, with camp accommodation provided. A competitive remuneration package will be offered, along with roster arrangements designed to maximise time at home.
