We are looking for a motivated and curious Mechanical Engineering Co-op Student to join our team for a 12-month term filled with learning, problem-solving, and meaningful projects.

This is not a typical co-op. You will be fully involved in real operations and projects, including:

  • Support plant engineering and manufacturing improvement initiatives
  • Assist with the design, installation, and optimization of mechanical equipment and systems
  • Participate in equipment reliability and preventive maintenance initiatives
  • Analyze production processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and safety
  • Collaborate with engineers, maintenance teams, operators, and external contractors
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives (WCM / Lean Manufacturing)
  • Assist with root cause analysis and development of practical solutions to equipment and production challenges
  • Support project planning, execution, budgeting, and reporting for capital and improvement projects

You will also gain exposure to large-scale manufacturing operations, maintenance best practices, and capital projects in a fast-paced industrial environment.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU? What We're Looking For

You are a driven engineering student who wants to learn, contribute, and grow:

  • Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering program (co-op/internship required)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Interest in manufacturing, mechanical systems, equipment reliability, and industrial processes
  • Knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) is considered an asset
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, project management, CMMS systems, or SAP is considered an asset
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Interest in continuous improvement and operational excellence
  • Previous exposure to manufacturing, maintenance, construction materials, or industrial environments is an advantage.

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates. The base pay for this position ranges from $22.50 to $26.00 per hour. The starting salary will be based on the successful candidate's competencies, including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and qualifications as they relate to the role.
