Job Purpose:
The Deputy Manager – Control Firmware will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing advanced control algorithms for power converters and motor controllers used in Electric Vehicles, Renewable Energy systems, and Industrial Drives. The role involves real-time firmware development, tuning, and debugging on embedded platforms, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure high-performance and reliable product delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Control Algorithm Development:
- Design and implement control algorithms for DC-DC converters, inverters, and on-board chargers (OBC).
- Develop digital control loops (PID, current, voltage, speed, field-oriented control) for real-time applications.
- Implement firmware for PMSM, BLDC, and ACIM motor controllers.
Firmware Implementation:
- Develop and integrate firmware on TI C2000 MCUs for real-time control using PWM, ADC.
- Perform testing, tuning, and debugging of control systems on actual hardware.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with hardware, embedded, and mechanical teams to ensure successful product integration and performance optimization.
Skills & Qualification:
- Master’s or PhD in Power Electronics Engineering (preferred); Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering acceptable with relevant experience
- 1–3 years in firmware development for power electronics/motor control in EV, renewable energy, or industrial drives sector
- Strong understanding of power converter topologies: Inverter, LLC, Isolated DC-DC, etc.
- Proficiency in motor control techniques: FOC (sensor-less and with sensor), SVPWM, Hall/QEP-based position estimation
- Hands-on experience with C/C++ programming for embedded control
- Familiarity with TI C2000 microcontrollers
- Proficiency with testing/debugging tools: oscilloscope, logic analyzer, power analyzer
