Job Purpose:
The Plant Head will lead and manage end-to-end operations of the Cell and Module Manufacturing facility. This role is accountable for achieving production, quality, cost, delivery, and safety objectives while driving operational excellence, capacity expansion, and continuous improvement to support business growth in the renewable energy sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic & Operational Leadership
· Lead overall plant operations for Cell and Module manufacturing, ensuring alignment with business goals.
· Develop and execute production strategies to meet demand forecasts, optimize capacity, and minimize downtime.
· Drive initiatives for cost reduction, productivity enhancement, and yield improvement.
· Ensure adherence to statutory regulations, environmental norms, and industry standards.
Production & Process Management
· Oversee day-to-day operations across cell line and module assembly processes.
· Implement robust process control systems to reduce defects and improve cycle time.
· Introduce automation, digitization, and Industry 4.0 practices to enhance efficiency.
· Lead integration of new technologies, product introductions, and capacity expansion projects.
Quality & Safety
· Establish and maintain quality systems to meet global benchmarks (IEC, UL, BIS, etc.).
· Champion Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and TQM practices for continuous improvement.
· Build and sustain a “zero-accident” culture through strict adherence to EHS standards.
People Management
· Lead, mentor, and develop teams across production, maintenance, quality, and engineering.
· Drive workforce capability building through training and skill development programs.
· Foster a collaborative, accountable, and innovation-driven work environment.
Business & Stakeholder Management
· Collaborate with supply chain, R&D, and commercial teams to ensure on-time delivery.
· Manage vendor and partner relationships for critical raw materials, equipment, and consumables.
· Report plant KPIs, operational metrics, and performance updates to senior management.
Skills & Qualifications:
· B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Production, or Industrial Engineering; MBA in Operations/General Management preferred.
· 18–25 years in large-scale manufacturing, with at least 8–10 years in leadership roles within solar PV, electronics, or high-tech manufacturing.
· Production systems, automation, quality frameworks (ISO, Six Sigma, Lean), and safety compliance.
· Proven track record of leading multi-disciplinary teams in high-volume, high-precision manufacturing environments.
· Strong communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.
