Job Purpose:
To design, develop, and optimize pump components and systems that meet performance, reliability, and cost targets. The role focuses on creating accurate engineering designs and documentation, driving value engineering initiatives, ensuring seamless data integration within SAP, and collaborating cross-functionally to enhance product quality, manufacturability, and overall engineering efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop pump components to meet performance, durability and efficiency targets
- Work on improvement and value engineering of current pump products for cost optimization, reliability enhancement, and standardization
- Create and maintain detailed engineering drawings, GAD, models and specification using CAD Tools (NX, Gstar CAD/AutoCAD)
- Prepare and manage technical documentation, including design reports, drawings.
- Ensure all design data is properly updated, tracked, and integrated into the SAP system(BOM,Material Master,change management)
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, sales team and testing teams to resolve design related issues
- Identify opportunities for process improvement in documentation,data management and knowledge sharing.
Skills & Qualification:
- B.E. /B.Tech/M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
- 3-5 Years of experience in Pump/motor component design and product development
- Proficient in CAD tool ( NX, AutoCAD/GstarCAD), GD&T
- Strong understanding of pump/motor components, materials and manufacturing processes (casting, machining, sheet metal)
- Hands on experience with documentation control, BOM Creation and change management.
- SAP Knowledge for engineering processes (BOM Management ,material data, release workflow)
- Good Analytical and problem solving skills,with a focus on continuous product improvement.
- Strong communication and cross functional collaboration abilities
