Job Description:


What will you work on?

As a Project Designer, you will drive concept development and product design across multiple categories. You will manage the design process from initial 2D sketching to 3D model development, collaborating with global teams to bring innovative, high-quality products to market.

How will you create impact?

  • Create product strategies, innovative brand slots, and concept designs for existing lines and new areas of expansion
  • Develop 2D sketches, digital renderings, and oversee the creation of 3D models for physical concept validation
  • Manage the end-to-end design lifecycle, including conducting feasibility assessments regarding product cost, schedule, and safety standards
  • Partner with Design Managers, Directors, and Brand Leads to guide the visual and physical evolution of assigned brands
  • Work closely with cross-functional partners in Structural Engineering, Marketing, Quality Control, and global teams across LA, Toronto, and Asia
  • Deliver clean, strategic product presentations directly to executive-level stakeholders
  • Travel internationally to Hong Kong/China to oversee tooling and development, and to Toronto for key alignment meetings

What are your skills and experience?

  • Undergraduate degree (BFA) in Toy Design, Industrial Design, or a related field
  • Professional design experience within the consumer products industry, specifically in toy design
  • Deep technical knowledge of design and manufacturing processes for action figures, dolls, vehicles, playsets, or role-play toys
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator
  • Strong ability to manage timelines, prioritize deliverables, and coordinate with cross-functional partners
  • A professional portfolio demonstrating strong ideation, 2D concept rendering, and sketching capabilities
  • Experience developing toys based on or integrated with entertainment properties is a plus

The anticipated pay range for candidates who will work in Ontario is $90,000 to $110,000 Per Annum. The offered pay to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience within the job, years of experience within the required industry, education, etc. Spin Master Inc. is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work only in other states.
