Job Description

This role leads the architecture and functional design for a large-scale transformation from Salesforce and related point solutions to Oracle Fusion CX. The architect will own the cross-module solution, guide specialist workstreams, protect system-of-record boundaries, and ensure that configuration, integrations, migration, security, analytics, testing, and cutover operate as one coherent solution.

Role level

Lead Solution Architect

Solution scope

Oracle Fusion CX transformation and Salesforce migration

Primary platforms

Oracle Sales, CPQ, Enterprise Contracts, Subscription Management, Service, CDM, Eloqua and OIC

Engagement focus

Architecture, design governance, integration, migration, delivery assurance and stakeholder leadership

Role Summary

The Lead Oracle Fusion CX Solution Architect will translate business and operational requirements into an implementable Oracle architecture covering marketing, sales, quoting, contracts, warranties and subscriptions, customer service, customer master data, portal experiences, and downstream ERP, SCM, planning, manufacturing, reporting, and identity integrations. The role combines functional architecture, technical coordination, data governance, and delivery leadership. It is accountable for design quality and end-to-end traceability while working with dedicated module leads and developers.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture and Design Governance

  • Own the end-to-end Oracle Fusion CX solution architecture and maintain clear systems of record across CDM, Sales, CPQ, Enterprise Contracts, Subscription Management, Service, ERP, SCM, Maestro or Kinaxis, MES, and reporting platforms.
  • Lead discovery and detailed-design workshops; convert requirements into approved process flows, solution designs, decision logs, ownership models, configuration workbooks, and acceptance criteria.
  • Apply Oracle standard capabilities and best practices, rationalizing the current Salesforce design instead of recreating legacy pages, fields, objects, reports, and automations without a confirmed business need.
  • Govern cross-module capabilities including requested-versus-executed delivery schedules, booking controls, commercial changes, agreement hierarchies, warranties, entitlements, claims, and customer 360 visibility.
  • Assess extensions and AI use cases for business value, licensing, security, auditability, human review, regional availability, and supportability.

Functional Workstream Leadership

  • Guide Oracle Eloqua design for lead capture, routing, scoring, journeys, segmentation, consent, campaign analytics, and Sales alignment.
  • Guide Oracle Sales design for accounts, relationships, opportunities, pipeline, forecasting, commercial reviews, booking controls, activities, and contract or schedule visibility.
  • Guide Oracle CPQ design for product configuration, guided selling, pricing, approvals, quotes, revisions, change orders, delivery schedules, and quote-to-order handoff.
  • Guide Enterprise Contracts design for agreement authoring, parent-child structures, amendments, commercial terms, obligations, NDAs, audit trails, and contract intelligence.
  • Guide Subscription Management and Service design for warranty and service coverage, entitlements, installed-asset relationships, registrations, inquiries, complaints, claims, SLAs, queues, knowledge, and adjudication handoffs.
  • Guide CDM and portal design for governed party identity, hierarchies, stewardship, secure self-service, role-based access, and read-only operational, contract, shipment, and financial inquiry.

Integration Data and Analytics

  • Define OIC integration patterns and interface designs covering field mappings, ownership, triggers, frequency, volume, latency, security, error handling, retries, reconciliation, monitoring, archival, and support.
  • Coordinate integrations among Eloqua, Sitecore, Sales, CPQ, Contracts, Subscription Management, Service, Oracle ERP and SCM, Maestro or Kinaxis, ModuleScan, MES and SQL sources, SharePoint, Microsoft 365, identity services, and Microsoft Fabric or Power BI.
  • Own migration architecture for active Salesforce and legacy data, including profiling, scope filters, source-to-target mapping, transformation, cross-object relationship preservation, two rehearsal cycles, reconciliation, production cutover, and legacy read-only access.
  • Define operational reporting and KPI requirements, separating embedded Oracle analytics from governed enterprise reporting in Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.

Delivery Leadership and Quality

  • Coordinate module consultants, integration developers, data specialists, security leads, portal developers, reporting teams, and client or third-party SMEs.
  • Review functional and technical designs, configuration, extensions, interfaces, migration results, security roles, reports, and test evidence for completeness and cross-module consistency.
  • Support planning, estimation, dependency management, RAID management, change control, environment readiness, release coordination, cutover, hypercare, and knowledge transfer.
  • Prepare and support SIT scenarios, defect triage, UAT readiness, business sign-off, reconciliation, and production deployment.
  • Communicate architecture decisions, risks, assumptions, dependencies, and tradeoffs clearly to business leaders, technical teams, Oracle, and third-party vendors.

Required Experience

  • 12 or more years of enterprise application consulting or architecture experience, including at least 7 years across Oracle CX or Oracle Fusion applications.
  • Architecture or solution-lead responsibility on at least three full lifecycle cloud implementations, including discovery, design, build governance, SIT, UAT, migration, cutover, and stabilization.
  • Strong hands-on functional knowledge in Oracle Sales and at least three of the following: Oracle CPQ, Enterprise Contracts, Subscription Management, Oracle Service, CDM, or Eloqua.
  • Demonstrated experience designing end-to-end lead-to-opportunity, opportunity-to-quote, quote-to-contract or order, warranty or entitlement, and service-request or claim processes.
  • Strong understanding of OIC, REST and SOAP APIs, event and batch patterns, error handling, integration monitoring, and reconciliation controls.
  • Experience migrating Salesforce CRM data to Oracle, including data quality, deduplication, relationship mapping, rehearsal cycles, and cutover reconciliation.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle ERP and SCM touchpoints such as customer and site data, products, pricing, Order Management, shipments, invoices, balances, returns, and RMAs.
  • Experience with role-based security, SSO and identity federation, auditability, privacy and consent, and segregation of duties.
  • Excellent workshop facilitation, stakeholder management, documentation, presentation, and executive communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Oracle certifications in Oracle Sales, Service, CPQ, Integration Cloud, Enterprise Contracts, Subscription Management, or related Fusion applications.
  • Experience with manufacturing, renewable energy, high-value project sales, long-term supply agreements, delivery scheduling, warranty claims, or serialized assets.
  • Exposure to Sitecore, Maestro or Kinaxis, MES, SharePoint, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Microsoft 365 or Teams, and customer portal architectures.
  • Experience governing assistive AI features, contract intelligence, summarization, prediction, or recommendations within enterprise controls.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Visual Builder or Redwood extensibility and disciplined use of extensions only where standard capability is insufficient.

Success Measures

  • Approved architecture and detailed designs are complete, traceable, internally consistent, and remain within agreed scope and system-of-record boundaries.
  • Cross-module processes, integrations, migrated relationships, security, reports, and reconciliations pass SIT and support business-led UAT.
  • Booking, delivery-schedule, contract-change, warranty-entitlement, and claim processes operate with clear ownership, controls, auditability, and exception handling.
  • Production cutover is controlled, business readiness is demonstrated, and knowledge is transferred to support and operational teams.

Scope Boundaries the Architect Must Protect

The role must actively prevent unapproved scope expansion. The baseline excludes like-for-like Salesforce recreation; Oracle Unity CDP; Oracle Field Service; Service Logistics; Oracle Quality Management implementation; financial execution of reimbursements, refunds, payments, cash application, or collections; AI-based image or defect recognition; payment processing; and replacement of Maestro or Kinaxis, MES, Sitecore, SharePoint, ModuleScan, Fabric or Power BI, and other designated systems of record.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a pragmatic architecture leader who can move comfortably between business process, Oracle product capability, integration and data design, and delivery governance. They should be able to challenge unnecessary customization, explain tradeoffs in plain language, make decisions with incomplete information, and keep multiple specialist teams aligned to a supportab
