Key Responsibilities1. Business Analysis and Requirements Management
- Review existing and future-state medical business workflows and conduct stakeholder consultations to gather, analyze, validate, and document business requirements.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and workflow automation requirements.
- Develop and maintain Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Technical Design Documents (TDDs), and other business and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with MHI consultants, product leads, developers, and technical stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications, particularly for data exchange and Xtend-based solutions.
- Facilitate business analysis workshops and stakeholder discussions as required.
2. Product Backlog Management
- Create and maintain Azure DevOps work items, including epics, features, user stories, tasks, and bugs.
- Ensure requirements are accurately documented and linked to corresponding development tickets.
- Define and support the development of acceptance criteria and facilitate backlog refinement, sprint planning, and ticket prioritization.
3. Quality Assurance and User Acceptance Testing
- Develop end-to-end business scenarios, test cases, and UAT requirements.
- Prepare UAT plans, test scripts, and supporting test materials.
- Support sanity and regression testing during releases.
- Verify system functionality against documented requirements.
- Investigate, prioritize, document, and validate the resolution of defects and reported issues.
- Provide recommendations on release readiness.
4. Documentation and Knowledge Management
- Prepare and maintain user guides, standard operating procedures (SOPs), user training materials, release notes, product advisories, and other supporting documentation.
- Review existing documentation to identify gaps, outdated content, and undocumented functionality.
- Ensure documentation accurately reflects current system functionality, business processes, enhancements, and operational workflows.
5. Product Roll-out and Operational Support
- Support product deployment and go-live activities, including release scope definition and readiness validation.
- Facilitate user training, workshops, and global roll-out activities.
- Monitor adoption, user feedback, and post-release issues to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Investigate and help resolve production support tickets and user-reported issues.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation and ongoing improvement of MHI-supported systems.
Key Deliverables
The consultant will be expected to produce and maintain the following deliverables, as applicable to assigned systems:
- Signed-off Business Requirements Documents, including workflow analysis, process mapping, data fields, and identified enhancement or automation requirements.
- Signed-off Technical Design Documents detailing logical architecture, data flows, API specifications, and integration details.
- Business analysis workshop plans and records of sessions conducted.
- A prioritized and maintained product backlog in consultation with MHI.
- End-to-end test scenarios, UAT requirements, test plans, test scripts, test data, and supporting materials.
- Test execution results, defect logs, and release-readiness recommendations.
- Approved business requirements and supporting documentation in Confluence.
- Release notes, product advisories, updated user guides, SOPs, and training materials.
- User training and global roll-out plans, records of sessions conducted, and user feedback survey results.
- Production support ticket logs and resolution tracking reports.
Qualifications and ExperienceEducation
- Advanced university degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from an accredited academic institution, with at least two years of relevant professional experience; or
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, with at least five years of relevant professional experience.
- Professional certification in the relevant area of study is an advantage. Additional certification in business analysis is desirable.
Professional Experience
- At least five years of experience in information systems analysis and business modelling.
- Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments.
- At least five years of experience in analyzing complex projects, preferably within government agencies or non-governmental organizations.
- At least five years of experience preparing functional and technical documentation for information systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge of UML, process flow diagrams, use cases, and other business analysis techniques.
- Experience with medical systems-related projects and knowledge of IOM operational areas and/or software applications is an advantage.
- A minimum of five completed projects is required.
