This hands-on role suits someone ready to build their leadership skills while supporting drivers, providing practical guidance and helping maintain safe operations across airport terminals and customer warehouse sites.
About the Role
Reporting to the NSW Branch Manager, you’ll support drivers and daily operations across Sydney and Western Sydney Airport terminals and customer sites throughout Greater Sydney.
Tuesday to Thursday involves site visits, driver observations, toolbox talks and training support. Friday and Saturday focuses on supervising afternoon and evening operations, resolving issues and escalating incidents when required.
Your roster:
Tuesday–Thursday: 8:30 am–5:00 pm
Friday–Saturday: 2:00 pm–10:00 pm
Key Responsibilities
- Provide practical guidance to drivers and coordinate with the Operations Room.
- Conduct site visits, driver observations, toolbox talks and on-the-job training.
- Monitor attendance, fatigue, fitness for work, PPE and professional standards.
- Check vehicle pre-starts, fleet presentation and site safety standards.
- Support WHS, HVNL and Chain of Responsibility compliance.
- Assist with operational issues, incident reporting and follow-up actions.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience in transport, logistics, aviation or fleet operations.
- An interest in team leadership, with clear communication and organisational skills.
- A practical approach, sound judgement and confidence to guide others.
- A commitment to safety and professional standards.
- A current HR licence as a minimum. An HC licence is highly desirable; HR licence holders must be willing to progress to HC.
- Ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
Highly Regarded
- Airfreight or heavy vehicle operational experience.
- Knowledge of fatigue management, HVNL, Dangerous Goods and CoR.
- Certificate III or higher in Transport and Logistics.
- A forklift (LF) licence or willingness to obtain one.
