Role Overview
We are seeking hands-on Transaction Monitoring Analytics specialists to support the Financial Crime programme during the integration of TSB. The programme involves replicating TSB's existing NICE Actimize Transaction Monitoring solution into the target ThetaRay model while delivering the core ThetaRay model in parallel. The role is focused on Transaction Monitoring design, rules and model requirements, analytics implementation, migration, and delivery into production. Consultants must understand how TM monitoring logic works and apply that knowledge in a practical implementation environment. We welcome consultants with either traditional rules-based TM experience or AI-led Transaction Monitoring experience. Experience with NICE Actimize, ThetaRay, or comparable TM platforms is advantageous but not essential.
Main Responsibilities
-
Design, document, implement and interpret Transaction Monitoring rules, scenarios and/or models.
-
Analyse existing monitoring scenarios and requirements to support replication of TSB's Actimize solution into the ThetaRay model.
-
Support the parallel delivery and implementation of the core ThetaRay monitoring model.
-
Translate Financial Crime typologies, business requirements, and monitoring objectives into implementable analytics specifications.
-
Assess monitoring logic, scenario behaviour, thresholds, and relevant parameters applicable to the solution.
-
Work with Product Owners, Financial Crime SMEs, data specialists, technology teams, and testing teams to deliver TM change.
-
Analyse relevant transaction data and monitoring outputs to support scenario design, testing, validation, and implementation.
-
Support the mapping of legacy rules and scenarios to target-state model capabilities.
-
Investigate implementation issues, analyse results, and support remediation during testing and deployment.
-
Contribute to production implementation, monitoring, and post-deployment hypercare.
-
Document analytical decisions, assumptions, requirements, and implementation outcomes.
-
Support continuous improvement and future TM transformation activity as the programme progresses beyond initial replication.
Key Requirements
-
Hands-on Transaction Monitoring analytics experience within Financial Crime, AML, and banking.
-
Practical experience designing, writing, implementing, or interpreting TM rules, scenarios or models.
-
Understanding of common Financial Crime typologies and usage of monitoring logic to identify suspicious transaction activity.
-
Experience translating business or TM requirements into analytical specifications and implementable solutions.
-
Experience supporting TM model or rules change through development, testing, implementation, or production deployment.
-
Ability to investigate monitoring results, interpret analytical outputs, and identify issues or opportunities for improvement.
-
Strong analytical problem-solving skills and ability to communicate findings to business and technical stakeholders.
-
Experience working with cross-functional delivery teams in a banking or Financial Crime environment.
-
Ability to work UK business hours for the engagement duration.
Nice to Have
-
NICE Actimize Transaction Monitoring experience, including scenario or rules implementation.
-
ThetaRay experience, particularly AI-led or multi-factor Transaction Monitoring.
-
Experience migrating or replicating monitoring scenarios between platforms.
-
Experience with SQL, transaction data analysis, scenario calibration, threshold assessment, or analytical testing relevant to previous roles.
-
Familiarity with AI-led TM approaches and interpretation of model outputs.
-
Experience supporting large-scale bank integration, TM implementation, or Financial Crime change programmes.
