Job Purpose

Victory Minerals Pvt. Ltd. is seeking an accomplished, strategic, and result-driven General Manager (GM) – Bauxite Mining & Processing to lead and oversee our integrated bauxite operations in Salgi, Madhya Pradesh.

The GM will hold overall administrative and operational responsibility for the site, encompassing open-cast bauxite mining, crushing plant operations, mineral processes, quality management, supply chain logistics, statutory compliance, and local stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

1. Mine Operations & Extraction Leadership

Oversee end-to-end open-cast bauxite mining operations, including pit development, overburden removal, extraction, bench management, and ore haulage.

Execute short-term and long-term production schedules to meet targeted volume, recovery, and grade parameters.

Implement modern, cost-effective mining practices, equipment fleet optimization, and pit-to-plant transportation logistics.

2. Crushing & Plant Management

Direct and manage all operational activities of the Bauxite Crushing, ensuring maximum throughput, uptime, and equipment efficiency (OEE).

Oversee process optimization in crushing, screening, washing, magnetic separation, and circuits to achieve required ore grade specifications (Al₂O₃ content, SiO₂/Fe₂O₃ reduction).

Establish robust preventative and predictive maintenance schedules for plant machinery, crushing circuits, conveyors, screens, and heavy earthmoving machinery (HEMM).

Implement rigorous quality control and blending procedures at both the mine head and the processing unit prior to dispatch.

3. Statutory Clearances & Regulatory Compliance

Ensure strict adherence to the Mines Act (1952), Metalliferous Mines Regulations (MMR 1961), Mineral Conservation and Development Rules (MCDR), and DGMS guidelines.

Oversee site compliance for Environmental Clearances (EC), Consents to Establish/Operate (CTE/CTO), Water/Air Acts, and Forest Clearances.

Coordinate progressive mine closure planning, land reclamation, environmental monitoring, and site safety management systems.

4. Government Liaison & Local Stakeholder Relations

Serve as the primary representative for Victory Minerals with regulatory bodies, including the MP State Mining Department, Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM), MP Pollution Control Board (MPPCB), Forest Department, and local administration in Madhya Pradesh.

Actively manage community relations, local workforce engagement, CSR programs, and land/access matters in and around Salgi, MP.

5. Budgeting, Cost Control & Commercial Management

Develop and manage site CAPEX and OPEX operational budgets.

Drive continuous cost reduction across mining, crushing, electrical power, fuel consumption, wear parts, and outbound logistics.

Manage vendor contracts, site procurement, contractor execution, and dispatch operations (road/rail logistics).

6. Safety, Health & Environment (HSE)

Enforce a strong Zero Harm safety culture across the mine site, crushing plant, and auxiliary infrastructure.

Oversee safety audits, risk assessments, safety committee meetings, and regular emergency preparedness drills.

7. Site Team Leadership & Talent Development

Lead, mentor, and build high-performing site teams consisting of Mining Engineers, Plant Managers, Metallurgists, Geologists, Maintenance Engineers, Safety Officers, and Administrative staff.

Required Candidate Profile & Qualifications

Education & Certifications

B.E. / B.Tech in Mining Engineering / Mineral Processing / Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.

First Class Manager’s Certificate of Competency (Unrestricted) under MMR 1961 issued by DGMS is mandatory / preferred.

Experience

Min 15 years of hands-on operational experience in open-cast mineral mining and mineral processing projects.

Minimum 8–10 years in a senior leadership role (DGM / GM / Vice President) managing integrated bauxite mining, crushing plants.

Extensive background in plant throughput optimization, grade blending, heavy equipment maintenance, and statutory authority handling in Madhya Pradesh or adjacent mining regions.

Key Competencies & Skills

Thorough knowledge of open-cast bauxite mining methods, crushing technologies, screening techniques.

In-depth understanding of Indian mining laws, environmental regulations, and safety norms.

Strong leadership, conflict management, and strategic problem-solving skills.

Financial acumen with expertise in site unit economics, CAPEX/OPEX tracking, and contract management.

Fluency in Hindi and English (essential for regional administration and operational leadership in MP).
