**Role Summary**Softobiz is looking for a Tech Delivery Lead to own end\-to\-end technical delivery for the Softobiz project. This is a hands\-on leadership role: you will combine strong individual technical contribution with full ownership of a growing engineering team, ensuring high\-quality, on\-time delivery for our client. The ideal candidate brings deep, hands\-on experience across full stack development (Node.js, React/Next.js), backend architecture using Domain\-Driven Design (DDD), combined with proven experience leading and mentoring engineering teams of 10\+ people. This role is central to Softobiz's AI\-first delivery approach. You will champion AI\-enabled development practices across the team \- code generation, spec\-driven development, and automated testing \- while staying technically hands\-on and directly contributing to critical parts of the codebase. **Key Responsibilities****Technical \& Delivery Leadership*** Own end\-to\-end technical delivery for the project, balancing hands\-on contribution with team leadership and client accountability. * Lead, mentor, and grow a team of 10\+ engineers, running sprint planning, code reviews, and technical governance across the team. * Act as the primary technical point of contact for client stakeholders, managing expectations, timelines, and escalations. * Plan resourcing and capacity for the team, and drive hiring/onboarding support in partnership with PMO and HR. * Identify and manage delivery risks proactively, keeping leadership informed and course\-correcting early.

**Backend Development*** Build and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Node.js and TypeScript, following clean architecture, DDD, and SOLID principles. * Design domain models, bounded contexts, and aggregates using Domain\-Driven Design (DDD) patterns to keep business logic cleanly separated from infrastructure concerns. * Design and build event\-driven systems using Apache Kafka, including topic design, producers, consumers, and event schemas for reliable asynchronous communication. * Implement enterprise messaging and integration patterns using Azure Service Bus (or equivalent), including queues, topics, subscriptions, and dead\-letter handling. * Design RESTful APIs and integrate with third\-party services, handling authentication, data validation, and error management. * Work with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and implement caching and performance strategies. * Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, ensuring robust automated testing and reliable deployments.

**Frontend Development*** Build responsive, scalable frontend applications using React and Next.js with TypeScript. * Implement component architecture, state management (Redux or Context API), and performance optimisation best practices. * Ensure strong alignment of API contracts between frontend and backend, working closely with UX and product stakeholders. * Maintain accessibility standards (WCAG) and promote a consistent, high\-quality user experience.

**AI\-First Engineering*** Drive adoption of AI\-enabled development tools and workflows across the team, including code generation, spec\-driven development, and automated testing. * Apply AI coding assistants (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) personally and coach the team to use them effectively to accelerate delivery and improve quality. * Stay current with emerging AI development practices and lead internal knowledge\-sharing and upskilling for the team.

**Engineering Excellence \& Quality*** Set and enforce engineering standards and coding guidelines across the team; write clean, well\-tested code by example. * Promote clean architecture, SOLID principles, testability, and a strong culture of peer review and continuous improvement. * Identify and proactively address technical debt, advocating for long\-term maintainability. * Troubleshoot production issues and lead performance optimization efforts across the stack.

**Qualifications \& Certifications*** Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. * 10\-14 years of hands\-on full stack development experience with Node.js and React/Next.js in production environments. * At least 3\+ years leading or managing engineering teams (10\+ engineers) in a client delivery environment \- mandatory. * Demonstrable experience designing backend systems using Domain\-Driven Design (DDD) principles. * Hands\-on experience with Apache Kafka in event\-driven architectures \- mandatory. * Hands\-on experience with Azure Service Bus or equivalent enterprise messaging platforms \- mandatory. * Strong testing skills (unit, integration, end\-to\-end) using Jest, React Testing Library, or similar frameworks. * Experience working in agile, cross\-functional product teams, ideally in a global or client\-facing delivery context.

**Preferred Certifications:** * Microsoft Azure Developer Associate (AZ\-204\) or Azure Solutions Architect (AZ\-305\) * AWS Certified Developer \- Associate * Any relevant cloud or messaging platform certifications (Confluent Kafka, Azure Integration Services)
