RESPONSIBILITIES
Architecture & advisory
- Own the network architecture as SA: define target architecture, use cases and design principles; produce HLD/LLD and solution design documents.
- Act as the network SME and design authority: review and approve network designs, set standards and best practices for the project teams.
- Lead customer workshops with network, infrastructure and application teams; gain buy-in and drive implementation.
- Assess the current-state network and monitoring landscape; identify gaps and risks, and define the target state and roadmap.
- Define the network observability strategy: monitoring coverage standards, KPIs/SLIs, alerting thresholds and event correlation across sites, data center, WAN and cloud.
- Evaluate and recommend network monitoring tools and approaches; lead PoC evaluations and technology selection with vendors and partners.
- Ensure designs meet security, resilience and compliance requirements; present and defend changes at architecture boards and change advisory boards (CAB).
- Act as trusted advisor to customer network leadership and global technology partners; align network initiatives with the customer’s IT and business roadmap.
- Shape new scopes: solution proposals, effort estimation and statements of work for network and observability capabilities.
Hands-on delivery
- Hands-on build and configuration of network monitoring solutions (e.g. Cisco ThousandEyes agents and tests, SolarWinds, SNMP/NetFlow/syslog collection) in lab, PoC and production.
- Hands-on work on Cisco and multi-vendor network devices: configuration review, routing/firewall/proxy changes, connectivity validation for monitoring data flows.
- Hands-on integration of network monitoring data with the observability platform (e.g. Splunk) and ITSM (ServiceNow): data onboarding, dashboards, alerts.
- Hands-on troubleshooting of complex network and connectivity issues across data center, WAN/SD-WAN, Internet and cloud; root-cause analysis.
- Write runbooks, support operational handover and coach engineers.
REQUIREMENTS
- Certification: Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert – mandatory.
- Experience: 10+ years in enterprise networking, with at least 3–5 years in a Network Solution Architect / Network Architect role for large enterprises, while remaining hands-on.
- Architecture: Proven ability to design end-to-end network solutions (HLD/LLD), make architecture decisions and present them to customer architects and management.
- Hands-on: Still actively hands-on: able to configure, implement and troubleshoot by yourself, not only design and review.
- English: Excellent English (spoken and written) at enterprise level – able to present, lead workshops and negotiate with European customers independently.
- Technical: Strong in routing & switching (BGP, OSPF, MPLS), SD-WAN, firewalls, DNS, load balancing, data center and cloud networking (Azure/AWS).
- Monitoring: Practical experience with network monitoring / performance tools (SNMP, NetFlow, syslog, NPM tools).
Nice to Have
- Experience with Cisco ThousandEyes.
- Experience with SolarWinds (NPM, NTA or related modules).
- Experience with Cisco networking products and platforms (Catalyst, Nexus, ISR/ASR, Meraki, SD-WAN, Catalyst Center/DNA Center, Firepower/ASA).
- Experience with Splunk, ServiceNow, Jira/Confluence; network automation (Python, Ansible, APIs).
- Consulting or customer-facing experience with large global enterprises.
