A well-established plastics manufacturing company based in JHB North is looking for a hands-on Maintenance Technician to join their team.
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience maintaining industrial or manufacturing machinery
- Welding experience (MIG, TIG or Stick) for repairs and fabrication
- Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of motors, gearboxes, bearings, belts and mechanical drives
- Experience with preventative maintenance and mechanical breakdowns
- Plastics manufacturing experience would be advantageous but is not essential
- Own reliable transport is essential
- Must reside in or close to Randburg due to breakdown call-outs
- Trade qualification advantageous but not essential
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance on production machinery
- Diagnose and repair mechanical breakdowns
- Carry out welding repairs and minor fabrication work
- Inspect and maintain motors, gearboxes, bearings, belts and other mechanical components
- Minimise production downtime through efficient fault finding and repairs
- Respond to occasional breakdown call-outs outside of normal working hours
- Ensure machinery is maintained in a safe and efficient operating condition
