Job Summary:
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment used in the refractory manufacturing process. The engineer will ensure that all electrical systems comply with safety standards, improve operational efficiency, and support the long-term reliability of the company's refractory products.
Key Responsibilities:
Electrical System Design and Maintenance:
- Design, develop, and maintain electrical systems for various refractory production processes (e.g., kilns, furnaces, etc.).
- Plan and implement electrical installations for new machinery or upgrades to existing equipment.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve electrical issues related to plant equipment.
- Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and testing of electrical systems.
Project Management:
- Lead electrical engineering projects from concept through to completion, ensuring deadlines, costs, and quality standards are met.
- Collaborate with other engineering teams and departments to integrate electrical systems with mechanical, control, and other systems.
- Prepare and manage technical documentation and specifications for electrical installations and upgrades.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all electrical systems comply with national and international safety standards (e.g., IEC, OSHA).
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to prevent accidents related to electrical systems and components.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions to mitigate electrical hazards in high-temperature environments.
Automation and Control Systems:
- Work on automation and control systems for refractory production, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and SCADA systems.
- Optimize control systems to improve production efficiency and product quality.
- Troubleshoot and maintain electrical control panels, sensors, and instrumentation.
Collaboration and Support:
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure optimal performance of electrical systems in the manufacturing plant.
- Provide technical support to production and maintenance teams for electrical issues.
- Assist with training plant personnel on electrical safety and system operation.
Continuous Improvement:
- Propose and implement electrical system upgrades and innovations to improve energy efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance productivity.
- Monitor performance data and identify opportunities for process improvements in the electrical systems.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 -7 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in manufacturing, industrial, or refractory industries.
- Experience with high-temperature equipment and refractory systems is a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in electrical design software and tools.
- Strong knowledge of electrical circuits, power distribution, and control systems.
- Familiarity with PLCs, SCADA, and other industrial automation systems.
- Understanding of electrical safety standards and regulations.
