Job Summary:
The Solar Plant Incharge is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, maintenance, and performance of a solar power plant. This role ensures that the plant functions efficiently and safely while maximizing energy generation and minimizing downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operations & Maintenance (O&M):
Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of the solar plant.
Monitor plant performance and ensure optimal energy output.
Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance.
Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues.
2. Monitoring & Reporting:
Analyze SCADA/data logger performance data and KPIs such as PR (Performance Ratio), CUF (Capacity Utilization Factor), and energy yield.
Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports.
Coordinate with remote monitoring centers and OEMs for issue resolution.
3. Compliance & Safety:
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.
Conduct safety drills and enforce proper PPE usage.
Maintain records of permits, audits, and compliance reports.
4. Team Management:
Supervise and train on-site technical staff (technicians, engineers, security, etc.).
Allocate daily tasks and ensure efficient workforce utilization.
Coordinate with vendors and contractors for service-related work.
5. Asset Management:
Maintain inventory of spare parts and tools.
Oversee AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract) and warranty claims.
Ensure cleanliness and security of the plant premises.
Qualifications:
Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical / Electronics / Renewable Energy / Mechanical Engineering.
Experience: 3–7 years in solar power plant operations, preferably in MW-scale projects.
Certifications: Safety training, solar plant O&M certifications (desirable).
Key Skills:
Strong technical knowledge of solar PV systems and electrical equipment (inverters, transformers, HT panels).
Familiarity with SCADA systems, data loggers, and remote monitoring tools.
Problem-solving skills and quick decision-making ability.
Understanding of local grid norms and power evacuation systems.
Good communication and team management skills.
Working Conditions:
Location may be remote or semi-urban depending on plant location.
Willingness to work in shifts or on-call during emergencies.
Physically fit to handle on-ground inspection and maintenance tasks.
