Job Description: Junior Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Position Overview: As a Junior Mechanical Maintenance Engineer in the Mechanical Department of our Fusion Plant, you will support the maintenance and reliability of mechanical systems and equipment. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, you will help ensure that all machinery operates efficiently and safely in high-temperature environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance Support:
  • Assist in the planning and execution of preventive and corrective maintenance activities for mechanical equipment.
  • Support troubleshooting efforts for mechanical failures and implement effective solutions.
  • Inspections and Monitoring:
  • Conduct regular inspections of mechanical systems, including pumps, motors, conveyors, and other equipment, to identify wear and potential issues.
  • Monitor equipment performance and assist in data collection for analysis.
  • Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
  • Assist in preparing maintenance reports and technical documentation for equipment.
  • Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the maintenance team and other departments to coordinate repair schedules and minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers on improvement projects aimed at enhancing equipment reliability.
  • Parts and Inventory Management:
  • Assist in managing spare parts inventory, ensuring necessary parts are available for timely repairs.
  • Support the procurement process for maintenance-related materials and tools.
  • Safety Compliance:
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations during maintenance activities.
  • Participate in safety audits and contribute to the development of safe work practices.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience:
  • 0-2 years of experience in mechanical maintenance or a related field; internships or co-op experience is a plus.
  • Skills:
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and maintenance practices.
  • Proficient in using maintenance management software and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Certifications:
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is preferred but not mandatory.

Work Environment: This role involves working in both office and plant environments, with exposure to high-temperature machinery and equipment. Adherence to safety protocols is essential.
