Job Overview:
As an IT Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and supporting the company's IT infrastructure. This includes overseeing network systems, hardware and software installations, data storage, and ensuring cybersecurity. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that the IT systems support the company’s production processes efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- System and Network Administration: Manage, monitor, and maintain internal network systems, servers, and workstations to ensure smooth and efficient operation across all company locations.
- Technical Support: Provide end-user support for both hardware and software-related issues, assisting staff with troubleshooting and resolving technical problems.
- Infrastructure Maintenance: Ensure proper installation, configuration, and regular maintenance of servers, routers, switches, and other network devices. Perform regular backups and software updates.
- Cybersecurity: Implement and monitor security measures to protect company data and networks. Conduct regular system audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Software and Application Management: Install, configure, and maintain software applications used within the company, ensuring compatibility with all systems and users’ requirements.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with production, engineering, and other departments to ensure IT solutions meet operational needs, particularly in the manufacturing and process control systems used in the refractory industry.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of IT systems, network configurations, and troubleshooting activities.
- Project Management: Support the implementation of new IT projects, such as system upgrades or expansions, ensuring that they are completed within the allocated time and budget.
- Training and Development: Provide training to employees on new IT systems and best practices for system usage and security.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience as an IT Engineer or similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proficiency in network administration, server management, and cloud computing platforms.
- Knowledge of IT security practices and protocols.
- Familiarity with industry-specific software or process control systems used in refractory manufacturing.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with various departments.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
Desired Skills:
- Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), or similar.
- Experience with ERP systems or other enterprise-level software.
- Knowledge of refractory production processes or manufacturing environments.
Work Environment:
- Primarily office-based, with occasional visits to manufacturing or production areas.
- May require occasional after-hours support for system maintenance or emergencies.
