Key Responsibilities:
Procurement of Materials:
Source and purchase raw materials such as alumina, silica, magnesite, binders, and other chemicals used in refractory production.
Procure packaging materials, tools, and spares required in plant operations.
Vendor Management:
Identify and develop reliable suppliers both locally and internationally.
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
Monitor supplier performance in terms of quality, delivery, and service.
Purchase Order Processing:
Prepare and issue purchase orders based on production and inventory requirements.
Ensure proper documentation and compliance with company policies.
Inventory Coordination:
Coordinate with store and production departments to maintain optimum inventory levels.
Track stock levels to avoid overstocking or stockouts.
Cost Optimization:
Evaluate market trends to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.
Initiate vendor comparison and cost analysis regularly.
Logistics Coordination:
Liaise with logistics partners and transporters for timely and safe delivery of materials.
Ensure proper documentation for inbound shipments, including customs clearance if applicable.
Compliance & Reporting:
Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety norms, and statutory requirements.
Maintain accurate procurement records and generate regular reports for management.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education: Graduate in Commerce/Science/Engineering. A diploma or MBA in Supply Chain Management or Materials Management is preferred.
Experience: 2–5 years in procurement, preferably in the refractory or manufacturing industry.
Skills:
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Knowledge of refractory raw materials and supplier networks.
Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office.
Attention to detail and analytical ability.
